Margo arrived this fall all the way from the UK with her mom, Eleta (Knockmullen Pearl). She is full of personality and a squishy cuddle bug! She is a purebred Irish Draught in a rare palomino color. Her sire is Longwood Dunbelievable from the Meehan's in Sligo, Ireland. We are so lucky to add this incredibly unique girl to our herd!
She can move!
The most perfect baby horse!
Sammy and I traveled to Ireland this summer to attend the Dublin Horse Show. We watched several showjumping competitions and Grand Prix's with many horses and riders that just left the Paris Olympics. Shown here is McClain Ward on Contagious who was 5th in the Cashel Place Stakes.
From an educational perspective, we watched the Irish Draught breed classes for several days. The stallions presented grace many pedigrees around the world and what a treat it was to see them in person and really asses my own preferences. Shown here is Farmhill Highlander.
Probably one of the highlights of the trip was meeting Elizabeth Deane, the authority of foundation Irish Draughts, and many of her wonderful horses. I learned so much! I was delighted to meet and cuddle with her stallion, BaltyDaniel Romeo. He had so many visitors, including small children, that he patiently greeted as well.
Rue and I attended a wonderful and informative clinic with dressage rider and trainer Shaun Mandy from the UK. The weather was not incredibly cooperative but we look forward to working again with Shaun in Aiken sometime this year.
Rue and I competed in our first three phase schooling show at Chat in September. He was such a good boy but his jockey forgot fence number 9 on cross country so darn! I will try to be better prepared for where I am going next time!
We attended a fantastic clinic with 5 Star Eventer Sara Kozumplik at the lovely Southern Oaks Equestrian center. Sara was positive and informative and had us doing some challenging exercises. Super proud of Rue to pause his thoughts on breeding mares this spring to concentrate and jumping around and being a good boy!

We enjoyed many visitors this summer to SLSH and Rue took everyone for a ride. He loves any attention, especially if it involves cookies. This is one incredible stallion!!
We kicked off 2022 with a clinic with Olympian rider Kyle Carter at Big Bear in Pine Mountain, Ga. We froze and the clinic was cut a day short due to inclement snowy weather but we had a great time with Kyle and his witty and comical teaching style. Kali (Oh Behave Baby) attended with Hannah Hollis aboard. Hannah got to experience cross country for the first time! Rue stepped up and definitely dialed in on his job jumping by more challenging questions and Novice/Training Level obstacles.
Rue and I did the Beginner Novice combined test and came in first!
We also did a few jumper rounds at Novice and Training and came in second for both classes.
We could not have asked for better weather and better company the weekend of the Oct 16 for the Michael Pollard Clinic because Sammy attended with me on Willow. This was Sammy and Willow's first experience Cross Country and the fourth time for Rue and I. We learned so much and Mr Pollard is an excellent instructor. So. Much. Fun! We will be back.
Michael Pollard schooling Cerulean Nightlife in dressage.
We are lucky enough to have qualifying show for the Young Horse Show Series here in Georgia. We took Breeland, our two year old, to the show and Ben Barnes, who purchased our filly Remi, brought her as well. Both fillies were calm, obedient and insightful learning about the jump chute. Bree came in second place out of 10 entries and scored 9's on several techniques. Sadly, we will be unable to attend the Finals in Tryon in November but we will be back with three year olds for next year!
