Hello! My name is Suzy Bramlett, owner of SLSH. I have been riding horses since the age of seven. I spent several years as an assistant trainer for jumper barns on the West Coast under Chris Van den Raadt of Palm Desert, CA and Josh Stranahan of Port Townsend, WA before moving to Georgia in 2000. My main interest has alway been starting young horses on the ground, under saddle and over fences. I have attended numerous clinics with the late Ray Hunt and Tom Dorrance to understand Natural Horsemanship at its roots. I became interested in dressage and eventing with my off the track thoroughbreds here in Georgia. My daughter Sammy, rides as well and is an immense help to me and supports me in this breeding adventure I started when she went off to college. I purchased Cerulean Nightlife (aka Rue) from Jeanette Aumen of Cerulean Farms in KY the summer of 2017. I breed several mares a year with the idea that they would be horses I would want to own forever. This makes my babies difficult for me to let go of! However, everyone tells me I can't keep them all! My goal is to keep one or two Rue babies to train and develop as well as continuing Rue's training and show career.
Why did we name our farm Silver Lining? We have always looked for the positive and the "Silver Lining" in the ups and downs of life. We have had our fair share like everyone, but we always look for hope and positive signs, even if it is just a ray of sun behind a cloud. It seemed fitting then, after the loss of my father and grandmother in the same year, we decided to start a farm that raised Irish horses after my family's Irish heritage and name it Silver Lining. We take pride in the foals we raise and develop for show jumping, dressage, eventing, hunters, or just trail riding. SLSH farm is located in beautiful Sugar Valley, Georgia at the base of John's Mountain. It is adjacent to hundreds of Wild Life Management area acreage to trail ride on and expose the youngsters to lots of different terrain. We handle our babies daily and they are meticulously cared for. Make an appointment to meet everyone! Be sure to bring treats!
